A Masterpiece beautifully combined the essence of “mechanics”, “control”, and “foolishness”. A non-Japanese astonishingly reacts to this product saying “Why Japanese people apply such technology for this?” Definitely love to see this masterpiece in Japanese cuisine restaurants at Narita Int’l Airport, the gateway of Japan, or at the buffet-style Sushi party in the Grammy Awards.

This is an automatic sound operated robot, which is physically mocking iPhone’s sound operation system “Siri”. As it is physically operated, it can automatically carry out most of the operations that smart phones can. My main purpose this time was to develop a sound operated assistant like Siri, but this machine has limitless other possibilities.

The More digital gadgets advance, the more human activities using “fingers” increase pressing or rubbing screen. This product successfully replaces the “fingers” with Solenoid and enables to control smartphones with high quality. Literally “yubi(finger)-kitassu(came)”, an ubiquitous technology. Believe it or not, this perfect masterpiece can actually be applied right now in the field of health-care and more in the real world.
PHONE CALL-ONLY IPHONE CASE

An innovative invention to solve the universal phenomenon everyone suffers from, “SNS Addiction.” This product protects your smartphone just like a chastity belt medieval royal family men forced princess to wear before going to the battlefield. A typical example of “Rewind Technology” which generates product value by deliberate-downgrading of excessive advanced technology. Rewind-technology has its demands and needs in the coming years.
HYBRID RECORDER/PIPE ORGAN: RP-09
Produced by R-MONO Lab
A genuine pipe organ is too huge to put inside of our house, and its price varies from some millions to billions of yen. However, we successfully produced an original pipe organ a lot cheaper and smaller than the genuine pipe organ by replacing pipes with recorders. Please take a look at our special pipe organ that we have developed for this competition; an A4 paper-size pipe organ with keyboard, perhaps the world’s smallest pipe organ.

Every year, all prospective elementary school students in Japan have obligation to buy a recorder, a musical instrument like flute, for music class. On the other hand, it’s most likely that a large amount of recorders has been wasted after graduation. Thus, “Hybrid recorder”. If you collect this large amount of wasted recorders and turn them into a brand-new instrument, you can make a “Reuse-Recycle Recorder (3R).” 3R recorder is combined neatly to make the perfect structure and beautifully designed as a product.
MOMIKAN
Produced by Shimilabo
Did you know that rubbing a mikan (clementine) makes it sweeter? I took this piece of grandma’s wisdom and put it into a shape using a solenoid. Modern society wants to have something tastier, with minimum time and effort… I created a machine for those needs by pursuing quality and efficiency. Why not enjoy sweet mikans with “Momikan” in a warm Kotatsu this winter?

Exploited niche needs by transforming Solenoid’s “push” movement into “rub” movement. Splendidly bridged the gap between “better taste by rubbing” and “pain in the neck to rub”. You won’t forget to turn the power off, because the product alerts you with s a metallic sound every time.
SOLEPYON
Produced by NEXT+α Iizuka branch
This item was born from my simple idea: I wondered if I could make a walking device with solenoids. I just attached several solenoids to the sides of a box simply made with MDF, then connected them to a simple circuit operated by a simple controller. How unbelievable! It walks forward just by moving solenoids! Watch this world of number violence by solenoids.

More Solenoids you have, better quality it gets…, NOT true! Really provoking product as if it shows proportional or inverse proportional connection between evolution of civilization and mankind happiness. A great example of “you never know until you try.”
SOLE PAN
Produced by kunihiro
Everyone must have done some tapping or flicking of a plastic pouch with powder in it. Especially those people who feed on instant noodles and soups have dedicated their time and effort on this troublesome task. This “Sole Pan” is created to solve that problem.

Japanese great invention to the world: ready-to-eat foods. This device was born in this country of the rich food culture. It makes you feel like “Yea! This is quite convenient”, but then, next moment, you feel that “but this is not necessary”. That’s exactly why this device deserves “Igsolecom” award.
